Chapel Studio is a small, creative recording space set in a converted chapel in the Suffolk countryside. It’s a relaxed, supportive environment where people can take their time, explore ideas, and make music they’re proud of.

Whether you arrive with a finished track or something still taking shape, we’ll meet you where you are and build the process around what your music needs.

Recording & Production

Every project is a little different, but most sessions sit somewhere between two roles:

 

Recording (Engineering)

Capturing your music clearly and professionally:

• recording vocals and instruments

• editing and refining takes

• mixing and mastering

In this role, the focus is on bringing your existing ideas to life.

Production (Creative Input)

Many sessions naturally become more collaborative. Indigo may:

• suggest arrangement ideas

• add instrumental parts

• shape the overall sound and feel

• support performance and direction

When this happens, the role moves into production , helping shape what the track becomes, not just capturing it.

We’re always happy to work in whichever way best supports the music. If something develops into a deeper collaboration (for example, co-writing or more significant creative input), we’ll simply have a quick, open conversation and agree that together.

 

Working with Musicians

If your track would benefit from additional parts, we’re happy to suggest session musicians we trust and enjoy working with.

• Any fees are agreed directly between you and the musician

• We’re always happy to help coordinate where needed

 

Session Contributions

In most cases, musicians are contributing as session players:

• Ownership of the song and recording remains with you as the artist

• Musicians should be credited where possible

• They’re welcome to use short excerpts of the track for personal promotion (e.g. showreels or social media), but not for commercial release

If a contribution becomes more creative or collaborative, we’ll simply talk it through and agree what feels fair.

Ownership

We aim to keep ownership simple and transparent.

• You retain ownership of your song

• Once a project is fully paid for, the final recordings and stems are yours

• You’re free to use and release your music as you wish

Until payment is complete, recordings and files remain the property of Chapel Studio.

If a track becomes a genuine collaboration (for example, co-writing or significant creative input), we’ll agree any shared ownership or credits clearly in advance.

Files & Delivery

Final mixes and stems are delivered via secure download once payment is complete.

• Stems are provided as audio files, ready for use elsewhere

• Full project files (e.g. Logic sessions) are not included as standard

 

Files are typically available to download for around 10 days, so please make sure everything is saved and backed up your end. We don’t guarantee long-term storage.

If you need something specific beyond this, just let us know , we’re always happy to talk it through.

Credits

We ask to be credited on any released recordings where possible. For example:

Recorded and produced by Indigo Turnbull at Chapel Studio

 

Where Indigo’s role is primarily technical, this may be a recording or mixing credit.

Where there has been more creative input, a producer credit may be appropriate.

 

We also encourage clear and generous crediting of anyone else involved in your project, it matters, and it supports the wider creative community.

Sharing & Social Media

We love sharing what happens in the studio.

• We’ll always check with you before posting any session content

• If you share your track or time here, we’d really appreciate a tag @chapelstudiouk, it makes a real difference and helps us grow

 

We’re also happy to send you clips or photos from sessions if you’d like something to share.

Our aim is to keep everything:

• fair

• and easy to understand

Most projects don’t need anything complicated. Where something sits outside the usual approach, we’ll just talk it through so everyone knows where they stand.
